It's the Little Things

I spent most of this week just exhausted from work. Everyday I planned to leave by 5pm, but everyday I was foiled at the last minute and didn't leave until after 6. A few days I didn't even get to leave until after 7 :( An entire week of 10 - 12 hour days, followed by an hour commute home, can wear out anyone. Now add to that the fact that I'm 31 weeks pregnant! I've been one tired mama! I was so excited to not have to do anything this weekend until my darling husband reminded me on Thursday that we had a wedding reception to go to today. Talk about bringing down my mood asap!

This morning I woke up super tired and a tad sore from this lovely bundle of joy that I'm carrying. Thinking I have all afternoon to relax before I had to start getting ready I settled in on the couch with a pillow under my back. Then, again, my darling husband breaks the news that the reception starts at 2pm! He, of course, tried to sooth it over by saying we should be home by 6:30.

So I begrudingly got showered and dressed to be ready to leave by 1ish. By the time we got into the city and spent 30 minutes looking for a parking spot it was already 2:30. We ended up not getting there until almost 3, but the nice thing was that it was a very small gathering in a little restaurant. I didn't have to worry about being deafened by a DJ or 1,000 people asking me how I feel, for baby details, etc.

By the time we left around 5:30, I was feeling a lot better. Turns out, even though it was rather difficult getting a start to my day, that just going outside, getting some fresh air, and moving around made me feel a lot better.

Now don't get me wrong... I'll be asleep tonight by 9pm!

Is It Possible...

To be this tired?? We spent all day yesterday doing more stuff around the apartment and I could hardly walk upright by the time we were done. For a while there I had thought I had maybe pinched a nerve in my back or something. But this morning I felt a little better, so I think the fact that I was crawling around on the floor putting our bathroom space saver together might have had something to do with it.

Freddy had to report to his unit this afternoon and is gone until tomorrow so I get some quality alone time with the putties tonight. It will mostly involve going to bed shortly since I can hardly keep my eyes open. Oh the exciting life I lead :)

The good news is that our crib and dresser/changing table is supposed to be delivered on Wednesday so we'll spend next weekend putting them together. In addition we will also hopefully get to order our new living room furniture as well. Our apartment is slowly coming together.

Now its off to bed to try and get an early start to work tomorrow!

100 Days

In 100 days, give or take, we will have our little boy. Seems so strange to say it, or write it, out loud sometimes.

Friday I had my glucose screening, which of course made me ill all day. I was so happy that I had decided to take the day off from work instead of trying to work afterwards. I felt horrible all day. We won't find out the results for a few days but I'm really hoping for normal so we don't have to go through it again with the three hour test.

So we spent the day today trying to get the last few boxes unpacked that had taken over our 2nd bedroom. Yes, we've been here 8 months and still don't have everything unpacked. We found the box that had all of our picture frames in it so I finally got everything hung up on the walls. If the rest of the apartment didn't look like a disaster I would post some pics of our hard work. It always amazes me how the house looks like a disaster when you're trying to organize :)

The plan is for the crib to live in our room and put the rest of the nursery furniture in the 2nd bedroom. What sucks is that we can't really decorate a nursery since we are renting, but, I have found a cute cross stitch name picture that I'm going to do so we have at least one personalized item for him. I'll post a pic once it has been completed.

Well... off to hang the rest of the pictures!

Not as Difficult...

Well that was easy! I found my previous layout so I didn't have to spend hours finding a new one I liked! Which also would have included hours of messing around with font colors because I am that crazy... Not really too much to add today... just trying to figure out what to do first since Freddy is at drill this weekend playing Army. My options...

1. Watch TV and relax... I am growing a human after all...
2. Clean the kitchen.
3. Clean the bedroom.
4. Play with the putties.
5. Work on my cross stitch.

So many options. Well, I can't play with the putties because it is nap time. I got a couple glaring looks when I had the nerve to talk to them a few minutes ago. Why would I even think about disturbing naptime!

Nap Time!

I may entertain cleaning later this afternoon. We still have to figure out how we're going to reorganize the apartment for all the baby furniture that we'll need. I guess we better think about purchasing some of that stuff soon.

I'll probably end up working on my cross stitch...

7 Days...

...since my last post :( For some reason I haven't really had much to write about this past week. There were a couple of days that I sat in front of the computer and just could not think of anything to write. I've mostly just been keeping myself busy while Freddy is away in Germany. He tries to call everyday, which is nice as I know a lot of wives don't have that luxury. But it is still difficult with the time difference and having to rely on calling cards. If I happen to miss his call there really isn't a way for me to return his call. I just have to wait for him to get a free moment to call again.

Anyway, this week has been going kind of slow, but a few things that I was able to get started or accomplished with Freddy away...

1. Got myself up around 7am every morning for work :) Normally Freddy is my alarm clock.

2. Took out the trash.

3. Keeping the kitties fed and cleaned.

4. Cleaned the house.

5. Dropped off and picked up the laundry.

6. Started walking with my new Nike+ tennis shoes (more on those later!).

7. Received some family news (more on that later!).

And, my new guilty pleasure...

I'm not sure why this show fascinates me, but I sit enthralled with each episode. I think a lot of it is listening to these teenagers and how they think that life is going to be so easy with a newborn baby. And then reality hits them hard. What is sad for a lot of these teens is how unsupportive their families are. I was espcially surprised how unsupportive the family was of the teen from season 1 who decided to give her baby up for adoption. I really think she was the only one that season who was thinking about the best interest of her baby and her family fought her the entire way.

How about all of those round 1 and 2 upsets in the NCAA championship so far??? It is a good think I never got around to filling out a bracket at work. Mine would have been done by now :)

13 days until Freddy comes home...

I Don't Understand a Great Many Things...

I don't understand why it is almost mid-June and I can count the number of 80+ degree days on one hand. All this rain is very depressing. I really enjoy three petrified and fuzzed out putties running around the house everytime the thunder hits... every single night for a week.

I don't understand when you're riding the subway and the guy sitting next to you falls asleep and thinks it is ok to lean on you. I don't know you buddy! And then is upset when you push him off.

I don't understand how one can eat rabbit food for a week and stay exactly the same at weight in.

I don't understand why people think it is acceptable to to play music so loud on the street that the entire house vibrates. That's just not right!

I don't understand why people think it is ok to just drop trash in someone's yard.

I don't understand how some people get through a day on their own.

I don't understand how some people get rewarded for doing nothing.

I don't understand how three little furry putties can turn around a bad day....
