Chillaxin'

I wish I could say that the reason I have been so absent is because I am relaxing somewhere fun.  Nope....  life has taken over my life these days...

But that's not keeping Marshall from sitting back and enjoying the ride!

Never Clean

Not only am I always picking up cat toys, but now that Marshall is crawling all over the place, I now have to put all his toys away every few hours. A playroom would be nice about now...

And yes...Marshall does tip over his toy bin and pulls out all of his toys on his own...

Hadley was so abused during the two weeks that Freddy was gone he wouldn't let him out of his sight.  According to Hadley he got no love... yes this is one abused kitty...

No Pictures Please!

Ever the fast learner, Marshall now knows what the little white square on the top of my camera does. Whenever I lift up my camera I get faces like this...

And He's On the Move

Marshall has officially started the Army crawl. The cats are not amused :) He can now pretty much get wherever he wants now. I ordered a baby gate for the living room yesterday...

Day 7: Sick.... Again

Yep... that's right. I'm sick again :( I've been doing so good about posting everyday that Freddy has been gone but yesterday just didn't happen. Thursday I woke u with a little bit of a scratchy throat, but I did't think too much of it. Well, by the end of the day my allergies were going crazy. I spent most of the day sneezing with watery eyes. Thursday night I had to work on a client implementation so I didn't get to bed until almost midnight.

Friday I woke up completely congested and with no voice. Luckily my conference call schedule was pretty light and I ended up logging off for the day by 4pm to take a quick nap before I had to pick up Marshall from daycare.

Needless to say Marshall and I fell asleep in our bed around 7:30 and we both slept straigt through until 6:30 this morning. After I fed him I had every intention of getting us up and ready so I could attend my WW meeting, but the next thing I knew it was 10:00! I guess I needed some sleep.

I'm hoping to get Marshall's 7 month post up tomorrow. I still have to edit his bear picture.

It's 8:00... too early for bed???

Day 5: On the Wagon

So you may have noticed that my weightloss banner has been reset back to 0. Well, doing Weight Watchers online was not working very well for me. I'm not sure why as I'm perfectly capable of following the program. I think it is just the thought of someone else with the power to record the magic number each week.

So, starting this past Saturday, I started going back to the meetings. I really enjoy this group of people. I think it was the first time ever that I actually started conversations with other people. Of course one had her 10 month old daughter with her so of course I had to chat :)

So... here's to jumping back on the Weight Watchers wagon! As soon as I have a few free moments, I'll update the weightloss tab with my current information. My first little mini-goal is to lose the first 5 lbs. I figure if I lose 5 lbs a month that will be 30 lbs by the end of the year. That seems doable. Plus, my mom just lost 20 lbs on Weight Watchers so if she can do it then I can do it!

BTW... Marshall hit 7 months on Monday. I have pictures to share, which I'll get up as soon as I have a chance to edit them. He actually sat still so I could take his monthly picture with the bear :)

Day 4: What I've Learned as a Mommy

So I was thinking about the various things that I've learned about being a Mommy since Marshall was born in October. It is amazing how the smallest thing seems like a revelation to me :)

1. Not all first time mothers go late. Marshall was 2 weeks early.

2. They always say you'll know when you're in labor. Not true! For the first 6 hours that I was in labor I didn't have anything that felt worse than mentrual cramps so I thought I was having the Braxton Hicks contractions. 5 1/2 hours later Marshall was here!

3. During childbirth, you really don't care about anything else. I'm a fairly modest person and I didn't care who was in the room or where they were.

4. The best thing I did while we were in the hospital was have the nurse take Marshall to the nursery overnight. It allowed me to get some rest for a few more days before going home.

5. I should have stayed in the hospital for the extra day. We were so anxious to get home and start our lives as parents that we asked the doctor to discharge us a day early. It would have been one more day of people taking care of us and another night of uninterrupted sleep.

6. When they say make sure your hospital bag is packed at 35 weeks... Do It!! We were rushing around the night we went to the hospital and of course forgot things... like the camera!

7. Take everyone's advice and sleep when the baby sleeps!

8. Don't worry that your house is a little messy. I would try to clean something while Marshall was sleeping but just ended up more tired and irritable.

9. Babies are tough. I'm not saying they're indestructable but Marshall should have brain damage due to all the times I've bonked him on the head. Most of the time he looks at me and laughs.

10. A poopy diaper is way more comfortable than a wet diaper. Marshall starts getting antsy when he's even a little bit wet. But he'll sit in a poopy diaper for hours just as happy as a clam.

11. Sleeping through the night means sleeping until 5am.

12. Sleeping in on Saturdays means sleeping in until 7am :)

13. Television? What television? I don't think I've seen a full television program since October.

14. I'm always late for everything now and I'm ok with that. Even when we start gettig things together early, something alway pushes us back... like the need to change clothes after a spit up accident.

15. I never imagined that I wouldn't care about the fact that I have to rearrange everything to make sure Marshall is getting what he needs.
