15 Years Later

Today is September 11... 9/11...

Every time I hear or read September 11 or 9/11, I can't help but think back to that day 15 years ago.  I was working my day job in Midtown Manhattan that day and would have ventured downtown for my night job that evening.

15 years later we have moved on.  The Nation has moved on.  But I still remember every minute of that day like it was yesterday.  You can read about my experience in a post I wrote back in 2010.

Remembering 9/11

I've thought about a lot of stuff today.  We went about our day like we do every day.  Marshall started his fall soccer league this morning.  We played a bit at the playground by his soccer field.  We came home and I mowed the lawn while Marshall played a bit on his iPad.  I reviewed my chapters and completed my homework for my finance class.

15 years later and we carry out our business like we do any other day.

15 years later and I still can't watch the 9/11 documentaries.

15 years later and I can't help but think this is the 1st year that high school freshman will learn about 9/11 as a historical event they were not alive for.

15 years later we continue to move forward because time marches on and there is nothing we can do about it.
