Even public transportation was working against me yesterday. I decided to take the ferry that leaves from Wall Street to Hoboken since I left the office a little late. The ride is normally about 15 minutes and I got on the 4:55 boat. I'm reading my Kindle as normal when I feel the boat start to turn. My first thought was "That was a quick ride." Well we weren't in Hoboken. Apparently, the boat actually lost power so we were about halfway to our destination drifting in the Hudson River. The boat captain was able to get us pretty close to a dock. Their plan was to unload us onto another ferry or get us off onto the dock. I'm talking breaking out the life jackets and everything. So we sat there for about 20 minutes getting our life jackets and lining up to jump onto the dock when the boat all of a sudden powered back up. I normally get into Hoboken around 5:10ish to catch the 5:15 Light Rail to Jersey City to pick up Marshall around 5:30. Well, I didn't get to Hoboken until almost 5:45. I had to run to catch the Light Rail and made it to daycare right at 6:00. Nothing like a little extra exercise in 100 degree heat with 100% humidity!
I think I need a mental health day!
So, before I go to bed and slip myself into a coma, I leave you with a great big "awwwwwwww"....
Btw.... Marshall is 8 months old as of 6/30. I can't believe he'll be a year old in 4 months!
